D. 202 HS musicians to participate in ILMEA district festival

Fifty District 202 high school student musicians will take part in the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) district festivals for jazz, choir, band, and orchestra in November.

The band, choir, and orchestra festival is on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Dundee Crown High School in Carpentersville. The jazz band festival is on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at St. Charles East High School in St. Charles.

The students were selected based on a competitive audition to perform in the District IX festivals.

At the District IX Festival, they will rehearse with top musical instructors before performing with other students from across the area as part of the District IX Choir, Band, or Orchestra.

The students will learn later this fall if they have qualified to perform at the Illinois Music Education Conference held in Peoria on January 24-27, 2024.
