Literary Club/Review is a place where writers meet every other Friday afternoon (2:20-3pm in Ms. Fairfield's room) to share their writing with peers. Our meetings are held with PEHS's Poetry Club and is often referred to as PoeLit Club in announcements. This is the club for you if you are looking for fellow writers to bounce ideas off of, an audience for your original work, hear and/or read peer writing for inspiration, or just want a quiet and supportive place to do some creative writing.
Literary Club members will also collaborate to edit and format submissions for PEHS's Literary Magazine during second semester. Members can also submit their original work for a chance to compete at the annual SPC Literary Festival. This festival gives students an opportunity to receive feedback from published authors/poets/publishers/journalists, attend workshops hosted by professional writers, and possibly receive recognition (for their previously submitted original work) during an award ceremony held at the end of the day. Previously, PEHS students have won the Critic's Choice Award in Personal Narrative and Poetry as well as other awards in the poetry, personal narrative, and short story categories.
