THURSDAY, MARCH 21, 2019 

Are you interested in government? Would you like to learn how state, county, and city governments work and the various jobs within government? Would you like the challenge of setting up and participating in a mock government; including running for office? Girls State might be for you. This is a great opportunity between June 16th-June 22nd at Eastern Illinois University. For more information and/or an application, please stop by Student Services and ask to talk to Mrs. Hanley-Anshel.

 

Attention all juniors and seniors.  This Friday, March 22, Plainfield East is hosting a career and trade fair during study halls.  This is a great opportunity for all of our class of 2019 and 2020 graduating classes to learn about some of the exciting careers in Will County, each of which will be right here in the main GYM for you to meet and greet.   Friday, March 22:  career fair will be here.

Miss your chance to get your handprint in your classes Handprint Mural. Well think again!  For the last week of Youth Art Month we will be offering handprint one last time. For $1.00 students will be able to make a handprint on the wall in their class hallway and sign the mural. We will not be selling prints during lunch but at the mural directly. IF you are interested in participating just let your study hall teacher know and come to room 224 with your dollar. You will be taken to your hallway to make a handprint. The following classes will go on the following days:

Thursday – Juniors

Friday – Sophomores

Are you interested in making a difference in District 202? If so, apply to be a District 202 Student Ambassador! This program is open to current Junior students who are willing to meet twice a month and present at School Board meetings on issues affecting high school students. Applications are listed on the school’s website and will be open from Monday, March 18th to Monday, April 1st. More information about the program is listed in the application.

 

National Art Honors Society will be selling buttons in the Cafeteria all week for $1- pre made or make your own.

TONIGHT is the long-awaited staff vs. students basketball game. Are you ready to see your peers guard Ms. Ruettiger and dunk on Mr. Ferrin? Or how about watching Mr. and Mrs. Schmitt shoot some 3s? Or maybe you’re most excited about seeing how Ms. Hoyer and Ms. Lopez-Perez stack up against the competition. Come out TONIGHT for a night full of basketball, food, games and contests. Admission will be $2 and concessions will be sold. See you there, the event starts at 6:00pm SHARP!

“Do you have a secret magic trick up your sleeve or a funny joke you’re dying to tell? Can you sing your heart out or dance like nobody is watching? Now is your chance to show off your secret talent! Sign up to audition for the talent show which will be held during the pep assembly this May! The signup sheet can be found in Ms. Napolski’s room, 427. Auditions will be held April 15th and 16th in the Media Center.”

 

Today’s News in Sports 

 

Come Out and try Rugby!  No experience needed. Girls practice Monday, Wednesday and Friday 4:15 – 6:15. The boys practice Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 3:00 - 5:00.  Practice is held at Central HS. Questions call 815-931-3354
